Two-time heavyweight champion Joshua Released from Hospital in Lagos Following Tragic Car Crash

The British boxer Anthony Joshua has been released from care, officials in Lagos confirmed on late Wednesday. The fighter was part of a serious road collision near Lagos on Monday, a tragic incident that claimed the lives of two of his close associates.

Recovering from Minor Injuries

The sports star had been receiving medical attention while recovering from minor injuries, his management team confirmed on Monday. The Lagos state commissioner for information, Gbenga Omotoso, confirmed in an update on social media that Joshua was deemed clinically fit to leave and heal privately.

“Anthony and his mother were at the funeral home in Lagos this afternoon to pay their final respects to his two deceased friends as they were being made ready for the journey back,” Omotosho said.

Honoring the Deceased

The two men who died were named as Latif Ayodele, a personal trainer, and Sina Ghami, a strength and conditioning coach. The official further stated that the athlete was heartbroken and overcome with emotion over the loss of his two trusted companions.”

The news of his discharge arrives after the global fight fans offered sympathy for the fighter in the aftermath of the heartbreaking incident.
