The Streaming Platform to Bring a Far Cry TV Show from the Minds of the Alien Series and It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia.

The newest Far Cry game that audiences explored was Far Cry 6, which showcased Giancarlo Esposito in the role of the villain, Antón, and came out during October 6, 2021. As a series, it has a reputation for delighting in action and madness with equal excitement, all while weaving captivating, socially charged narratives. Little surprise that FX's decision for a Far Cry anthology series brought on board two creators whose work have represented all of those things.

About the Series

Adapted from Ubisoft's popular video game property, the limited anthology series will be available on Hulu and be produced by FX Productions. The series will also follow the video games' structure by featuring a different location and cast of characters in every instalment.

Creative Minds

Rob Mac, creator of It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia, and Noah Hawley, the talent behind FX's Alien: Earth and Fargo, will work as lead producers on the series through their production banners, More Better Productions for Mac, and 26 Keys for Hawley. They will be joined by Emilia Serrano for 26 Keys, Nick Frenkel for 3 Arts, Jackie Cohn for More Better Productions, John Campisi, Gerard Guillemot, Margaret Boykin, and Austin Dill for Ubisoft Film & Television.

“FX has had outstanding relationships with Rob Mac and Noah Hawley for a collective six series and 32 seasons of television, and we are overjoyed that they are working together for Far Cry,” commented Nick Grad, President, FX Entertainment, in a news release. “I have no doubt that they will present this story in a way that is innovative, engrossing, and wildly entertaining. We also want to appreciate our collaborators at Ubisoft for placing confidence in us with this beloved property.”

Cast and Future Plans

Mac will also feature in the show, but at the time of writing, we do not know what character that may be. Hawley's Alien: Earth was just renewed for another season, with FX and Disney agreeing to a new comprehensive agreement with the producer.

“Having the opportunity alongside Noah Hawley is a goal achieved,” remarked Rob Mac. “Ubisoft has been remarkably accommodating, trusting us with one of the most renowned video-game worlds ever created. And throughout this process, my FX team always encourages me with their steady confidence and backing.”

“What I love about the Far Cry game collection is that it’s an standalone series. Every title is a variation of a concept, the same way every series of Fargo is a adaptation on a premise,” explained Hawley. “To produce a epic action show that can shift from season to season, while always exploring the nature of humanity through this complex and unpredictable lens, is a dream come true. I’m thrilled to partner with Rob and bring our mutual bold, ambitious sensibility to the audience.”

A release window for when we can expect the new Far Cry show has not been announced. The series will stream on Hulu in the United States and on Disney Plus internationally.
