Prolific writer for children and comedian David Walliams has been dropped by his longtime publishing house, as confirmed by the firm.
A representative for the company said: "Upon deliberation, and under the leadership of its recently appointed chief executive, HarperCollins UK has decided not to publish any new titles by David Walliams."
Media sources suggest that the decision was taken subsequent to an inquiry regarding reports of inappropriate behaviour involving female individuals.
The company has not elaborated on the specific rationale behind the move, adding: "We do not comment on private personnel issues."
A Prolific Publishing History
Walliams ranks among Britain's most best-selling authors for kids, with sales exceeding over six tens of millions of copies worldwide in 55 languages.
His inaugural foray into kids' literature, *The Boy in the Dress*, was published by HarperCollins fifteen years ago.
Several of his works, for example *Gangsta Granny* and *Billionaire Boy*, have subsequently been turned into TV movies.
He has published more than 40 books altogether, encompassing a holiday title called *Santa & Son*, which was released through HarperCollins in October.
A Dual Career
His career breakthrough occurred on the television comedy show *Little Britain* and has additionally received National Television Awards for his work as a judge on *Britain's Got Talent*.
He was awarded an OBE in 2017 honoring his contributions to charity and the arts.
This development follows the appointment of Kate Elton as HarperCollins UK's recent CEO last fall.
