Barcelona Set to Play Historic Game at Upgraded Camp Nou this Saturday
Barça revealed their first game will take place at the renovated but unfinished Camp Nou over the weekend. The club will host the Bilbao team in domestic competition over two years following their departure to allow renovations to start.
“Returning home was our dream. Finally, it’s happening. We are back at Spotify Camp Nou.”
The stadium will not be at full capacity though over 45,000 attendees can be present as per the current authorization. Once fully finished, the Camp Nou is due to hold over 104,000 attendees, a rise from the old capacity. Barça announced recent additions comprise a new players’ tunnel and new dressing rooms.
Stadium Testing
Barcelona held an open training session on the home pitch earlier this month. The club said they are seeking authorization from Uefa to host the next European match facing Eintracht on 9 December at Camp Nou. They have been hosting matches at the Olympic Stadium.
